Queen West Musicfest

The Queen West Musicfest was founded by Sean McCormick in 2008, born out of his passion for the community and the music it is renowned for producing. It is a free charity music festival held each summer in the southern jewel of Ward 19, Trinity Bellwoods Park. All proceeds support the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation which serves many Toronto Communities, including those comprising Ward 19.

The Queen West Musicfest serves to celebrate Toronto’s vibrant independent rock music scene, led by musicians hailing from the Queen West core – an area saturated with unsigned and undiscovered bands normally only appreciated in smaller indoor venues.

The line-up is annually comprised of six independent rock music acts. Five are of the unsigned variety, hailing from, or performing frequently in, the Queen West area. These bands are in search of a record label, and a stage to promote their product on a larger scale than they would otherwise be afforded without powerful promotional backing reserved only for the most popular national/international touring acts.

All revenues are generated through the generous support of not only corporate sponsors, but Queen West area business – the most valued partners of the festival.
